Old North Carolina Rock Collection Closed Mines Emeralds, Aqua, Garnet Etc.:
$199.99

These specimens were mined in the 1960’s and 1970’s by famous North Carolina miners including Lewis Orman, Tobe Cash, Archie Craven and others. The rocks you see in this listing are the exact specimens you will receive. There is a ruler in the first picture so you have an accurate size of each piece. They range in size from thumbnail to cabinet size display specimens. I think that all of these mines have been closed for decades but 1 or 2 may have recently re-opened because of demand for the material. This listing includes the following pieces.

1. Emerald in quartz with black tourmaline from the Crabtree mine in Spruce Pine district.

2. Aquamarine specimen from the Ray mine in Yancey county.

3. Aquamarine xl’s from Hiddenite (in gem jar)

4. Apatite crystal on matrix from the Foote Lithium mine on Kings Mountain.

5. Gem quality green mica w/ red rutile from Boiling springs that gets its color from chromium (in gem jar).

6. Stilbite from the Martin Marietta mine in Thomasville Davidson county.

7. Mica cluster from Yates Brooks farm in Cleveland County.

8. Pyrite w/ matrix from Glendon.

9. Garnet from Burke County.

10. Garnet covered with schist from the little pine mine

11. Rough Tiger eye.

12. Red Jasper.

13. Quartz Cluster w/ chlorite inclusions from Randolph County (2nd largest specimen in the box).

14. Petrified shell from the outer banks.

15. Agate with crystallization from Montgomery County (largest piece).

All of these specimens are rare and have become very difficult to find. I sell them in my store from $20-$100 each. I back-lit the mica and the aquamarine so you can see the amazing colors. This collection retails for around $600 if you can find a collector that is willing to sell this type of old North Carolina material. The smallest item measures around 1/2” in the gem jar and the largest measures around 4” across and weighs over 1/2 lb. Please contact me if you have any questions about any of the items in this group. The buyer will also receive multiple bonus specimens from North Carolina as a gift.

Shipping is 9.99 and I offer a 100% money back guarantee. Please look at my other rare items.
