From the school of Koson Ohara a Japanese Woodblock Print measuring approximately 9 x 13 in. in older frame and matting with papered backing and depicting an Ukiyo-e or more specifically a Kacho-e print of 3 Heron Birds feeding and preening in shallow lagoon. There is a red seal lower right and additional kangi (no we can\'t read) on the left margin of print. We suspect that the print is from the mid 20th century but this is not known for certain.

Print is handsomely matted in raw silk and lovely frame with glazing. Overall framed dimensions are 18 x 15.5 in.

An artist who did similar works in Kacho-e (bird and flower prints) was Ohara Koson (1877-1945) who was part of the shin-hanga (new prints)school and is famous as a master of bird prints such as the present subject. He also went by the names Shoson and Hoson.
