You will a lot of adjustable Akron Brass Hydrant wrenches. But take a closer look at this one. It is not the one you see all the time. First, it doesn\'t have the little notch cutouts on the head, second...The handle has a place you can turn it with a wrench and a hole near the end for a T handle type operation of the wrench possibly? Or maybe that was just to tie it to a truck or something too. The bar that might have gone there is not with the wrench. They made sure you knew it was patented (which actually, this style isn\'t really covered by the patent), the date is on it 3 times. Once on the head, once on the middle part of the handle under the Akron Brass Mfg Co Wooster Oh and once more on the other part of the handle.

Wrench does have a slight bend to it. I thought about straightening it, but I don\'t know if it may have been designed that way, so I left it alone. It does need to be turned in and out a little more. I got it to adjust but it is still tight to spin. It takes a wrench on the handle to make it work easily. Probably from years and years of just sitting.

Again, I suggest you search through worthpoint and other places that have sold wrenches like this and see how many you find that are a 100% match to this one. A unique style wrench for the fire apparatus collector out there.
