Here is an interesting 7.5\" square dessert plate with a beaded embossed edge on a wide rim.
In the center of the white ceramic plate, surrounded by a 22 karat gold ring, is a detailed image and cursive text of the \"Duryea\'s Motor Wagon, 1895\".
The backstamp in gold paint reads \"Old Auto Series, Warranted 22 Karat Gold\".
This automobile model was the first built in the US and done so by hand. After building only 13, the Duryea Motor Wagon Company of Springfield, Massachusettswent out of business in 1898.
