ORIGINAL RARE WW1 WWI GERMAN OFFICER FIGHTING TRENCH KNIFE & HOLSTER UNIT MARKED:

This is a VERY RARE trench knife and holster for a German officer or a senior NCO. Knife is dated “1917” and marked “Weinachten” (Christmas), so it was, ostensibly, a Christmas Gift of 1917. The blade Also has the unit marked on the blade, looks to me like a Bavarian Infantry Unit. The knife also has the owner’s initials on the pommel. The blade is minty/excellent with NO DAMAGE and original crocus polish. The blade is very sharp (factory sharp) on one side the other side has a strong blunt edge and a “ false edge” near the point. There is a touch of looseness in the stag horn handle, but the knife is still strong and serviceable. It comes with a matching pistol holster, looks like it had a Mauser 1914 or similar 7.65 (.32ACP) pistol in it.

This is ABSOLUTELY A RARE FIND!!! This is a very good candidate for research, having the unit and the officers initials. The condition is extraordinary considering it is a 108 years old! You will search long and hard to find another like this! This is really a rare opportunity for a WW1 collector to add a “choice” piece to the collection! PLEASE DON’T LOOSE IT!!!
