Theunique blade appears to be the same exact blade on Silvey’s book on page12. The guard and hilt are not the original of my RECON/SOG (See all thepictures.) The VietnamWar knife marked Japan at the ricasso. The blade has the unique shape of theVietnam era 7" Recon/SOG. Irecently came across a true SOG for $3,000, the bottom hilt is the same of theRecon/SOG. (See the picture.) All parts are solid,I tend to be conservative, I listed as very plus good to very good. FromSilvey’s book, OriginalSOG knives original, $9.85/1964, my own “inflation” $99.24/2024 RECON/SOGknives original $20/1964, my own “inflation” $201.50/2024 The original soldier ofthe knife’s scabbard, used the Vietnam era leather dark brown, Mark 2 sheath(much sturdier), with the throng. A bit scruff, but solid, including all thethreads, staples and the handle snap button hilt. A bitgraffiti in the inside of the retention strap, a parachute? (See picture.)
