Peterson's Magazines published in one edition for the entire year of 1862. Printed and Published in Philadelphia in 1862. 482 pages + cover. A collection of patterns, music, poetry and short stories focused mostly on women's lives during the U.S. Civil War period. Thoroughly illustrated with both b/w and hand colored steel engravings. Bound in quartered leather lined in gilt tooling. Banded spine title and date/year 1862 in gilt. Leather around corners and spine are worn. Inside spine mostly detached from block with the back hinge and the text block holding strong. Boards rubbed. Very clean. page 467-468 has a clipped section missing. Light handling with a few small edge tears on a few pages. Some light foxing spots. Marbling on IFC and IBC. Period previous owner's names written on first blank. Great Civil War era reference tool!
