Original 1934 press photo, Iowa-born Barnstormer Clarence Chamberlin (and 2nd to cross the Atlantic behind Lindbergh, 1st w/passenger) joins Lindberg in urging the creation of a new government body to supervise air transportation

Iowa aviation favorite, Clarence Chamberlin, was also a contender for the Orteig Prize won by Lindbergh to be first to cross the Atlantic from New York to Paris.

Chamberlin was a famous celebrity during the Golden Age of Aviation.
