• CONDITION: Excellent Vintage: Free from any damage or restoration. In collector-grade, condition.
• DISCUSSION: Authentic Italian Murano alabastro art glass bird, circa the mid-20th century. It\'s a stunning piece, complete with the original label. Pontil/base is ground-flat, highly polished, bears the worn original maker\'s label, and shows expected shelf-wear from age. Excellent addition to any art glass collection, or a thoughtful gift for a special person! 

FULL CONDITION REPORT: We thoroughly inspected this piece and found no cracks, chips, nicks, scuffs, flea bites, flakes, hairlines, notable scratches, repairs, or evidence of grinding or restoration. Any natural indentations, bubbles, tool marks, and other natural textural features are all original to this piece and normal for hand-blown glass. Wear to the base is consistent with age. Please review all high-resolution photographs, at full size, in forming your own opinions.

Pontil scar artifacts, usually on base (often will look like divots), are the remains of the normal scar and are universally recognized as normal--not damaged.

NO PAINT: Our Murano or studio glass is NOT painted! It is all colored using a chemical strategy using elements and compounds to produce the coloration. This results in the design becoming embedded in the surface of the glass.
GLASS MASTERS: The alchemy of hot glass blowing is an art and craft involving the 1150°F heat of the glass furnace, age-old and newly developed techniques, tools, and proprietary chemical formulas to achieve the amazing art glass you\'ll see in our store. Master glass artist status is not achieved quickly or easily. Reaching that high level takes some 20 years of learning and honing the many, varied skills of the glassmaster. Glassblowing is rarely done alone, but nearly always requires the teamwork of the artist\'s assistant(s) in the complex process!
