Noble County Oklahoma Territory was formed from part of the Osage Indian tribal lands in 1893. and part of and the lawless Cherokee Strip. An Original complaint of Richard Hansing, Noble County that J. Roy Stoker stole his bay horse. Hansing himself was arrested 10 years earlier when he and his partner John Kefer used Winchester rifle and a revolver to murder John Perkins in Logan County. Due to a good lawyer Hansing got a new trial andonly 6 years sentence. In the1906 Horsethief trial the stolen horse isdescribed as 16 hands high, weight about 1150 pounds age 10 years, of the valueof $125 and also the tan leather saddle valued at $45 was stolen,. The Complaint is signed by Hansing, also by Judge Hugh Sinclair, and by County Attorney Charles Boselick ordering a Warrant be issued and is ordered that Defendant Roy Stoker be held held and committedto the custody of the sheriff. The warrantis 2pp 8 x 14" typed on thin paper, with ink signatures. Minor wear, with small archival repair at fold edge, overall VG.
