These two items come from Northern Illinois University before it was named that. The N. I. S. T. C. (today N.I.U.) Loyalty Song was written by A. Neil Annas and published by The Treble Clef at the DeKalb, Illinois school. The N. I. letters are in nice shape. The black backing has a small in the upper right or lower left corner. They can be displayed in either position. The sheet music has a bit of staining and the image of the Castle on the Hill. This Tudor edifice was built in the 1890\'s after Illinois Governor John Peter Altgeld signed legislation to build this and similar buildings at each of the 5 State Normal Colleges. It was renamed Altgeld Hall in the 1960\'s. 1121
