Nice Vintage 9 1/2 inch E. Dehillerin Paris Heavy Copper Pot w/ Brass Handle:

This beautiful copper pot has been in my kitchen for decades. Before that it adorned my mothers kitchen wall... and before that? At some point it was a pot used for cooking large amounts. It has sides of 5 inches tall and it is 9.5 inches across the top. It has straight side with no taper. The pot is heavy, with thick walls.
It has \"E. DEHILLERIN 18 RUE COQUILLIERE\" stamped inside an oval. The trademark stamp is well worn from years of polishing. (see photo)
I am not sure the age of the pot, I\'m sure Dehillerin stamp is a good indicator.
It weighs 5 pounds 10 ounces. It has a very nice hefty feel to it, perfect for that stew or stovetop dish.
The pot has a nice shine, the inside lining is in good shape. There is a small dent ( < 1\") along the bottom rim (see pic). It is not very noticeable from the inside. (see photo)

Dehillerin had been central to the Parisian (and French) cooking industry for more than a hundred years when Americans began to discover French cookingen masseafter World War II. Julia Child bought many of her copper pots from Dehillerin and you can see them hanging in theSmithsonianMuseum of American History in Washington, DC. According to theSmithsonian Magazine, “The pots were purchased in France between 1948 and 1952, during the time that the family lived in Provence. Several bear the address 18 rue Coquillière.”This vintage pot from E. Dehillerin Paris is a unique piece of cookware that is sure to add charm to any kitchen.
