This is areally nice antique Seth Thomas 8-day time and strike Adamantine mantel clock. It features a black onyx finish with embossed scrollwork, four halfcolumns, brass lion\'s head handles and ornate brass feet. It has beautiful green marbleized Adamantine colors. Adamantine is a celluloid veneer that was developed by the Celluloid Mfg. Co. of New York City and patented in 1880. Seth Thomas started using Adamantine glued over wood cases as early as 1882.

This clock measures 17\" wide including the feet, 7 \" deep and 11 1/4\" tall. It has an ornate brass door frame and bezel. The dial is marked Seth Thomas and shows some aging and wear and features a roundornate brass center piece. It runs well and strikes a gong at the top of the hour with the correct number of hours and a bell once at the bottom of the hour.

The condition overall is very nice. The Adamantine finish is in really nice condition. It has the original partial instruction label on the back which is very delicate. The original back door has the Seth Thomas logo. The key is included but is not original. The original brass movement is in good condition and has the Seth Thomas logo.You will not be disappointed in this fine antique clock.
