STRIKING CARRIAGE CLOCKFrom an old clockmakers workshop clearance... This is a good gong striking 8-day duration carriage clock Offered in UNRESTORED condition, as is. The case is a nice quality one, with the better handle with one way folding Case shows signs of gilding and perhaps gold paint with wear in places.
The movement bears the makers mark for Couaillet frères
Armand Couaillet (1865–1954) a French clockmaker from Saint-Nicolas-d\'Aliermont in Normandy.
Glass panels look really good, one side panel looks to be lucite replacement. Dial LOOKS perfect inside case - but upon removal from same - you can see chip to RHS
Clock is working, but is IN NEED OF OVERHAUL Rack can be a little sticky/lazy due to the grime I think.
Kept time to appx. 5 mins over a 24 hour period Striking and going can be seen in the attached video. I would say clock needs a clean and oil to attain accuracy and reliability Nice clock with good potential!
