Woodstock, New York guide sign.Up for sale today is this New York Thruway guide sign, with destinations of route 28, Woodstock, and Kingston. Made to the exact state standard used on the Thruway starting in 1962, when the blue-background signs were standardized to green. This sign was posted on the Thruway in August, 1969 when a rather well-known music event took place.An original of these is not only very rare to find scrapped, but is a herculean effort to transport; they are long since retired from active use. So here is your chance to own an excellent display piece, without chancing a hernia.

The sign is flat printed on heavy gauge steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts. It weighs about 3 pounds, 11 ounces. the original size is about 10 feet wide; this one is a precise rescaling of the freeway style sign down to a more manageable 14 by 10 inch size. it is a non-reflective sign - perfect for ordinary display, indoors or outdoors. (if you would like a larger size version, please ask as I can certainly make one!)

This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality.
