New York City Bronx E. 209 Street/Parkside Place sign. Up for sale today is this Bronx, New York E. 209 Street sign, which faces Parkside Place. The sign is made to the 1910s specification used by the city to designate this famous street in the heart of The Bronx, right next to the Bronx River and the parks that are on either side of it. This is the last style of porcelain sign before retroreflective signage, unfortunately not in the distinct shape any longer, were introduced in 1950s. This particular intersection is home to a variety of businesses in The Bronx. I can of course make any street, any block number, found anywhere in the Big Apple, and everywhere else too! The sign is 16 1/2 by 9 inches, and weighs about 2 pounds, 15 ounces. It is a faithful rescaling of the original 22x14 signs for a more convenient display. This is a high quality, heavy steel remake, very much reminiscent of the classic porcelain appearance of the original signs. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close! Would you like a street name or block number not seen here?
