The US Army did a great job with its extreme cold weather combat system and these pants are excellent for slightly colder days with some precipitation.
The pants include a top side zip to allow you to put them on without taking off your boots, thigh pockets, a button snap closure to seal your boots for moisture and tiedown points to use as makeshift gaiters at the bottom of the ankle cuff, and a set of suspenders if you want to keep your regular trouser belt on your normal pants.
