This is a vintage chrome postcard, unposted and featuring an aerial view of the new Civic Auditorium in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Postcard dates to the early 1960s. The auditorium opened in 1961 and was home to the Pittsburgh Penguins Hockey team from 1967 until 2010. The auditorium was the first retractable roof major sports venue in the world. It closed in 2010 and was demolished in 2011 and 2012. It is now a parking lot for the replacement sports arena.
