Beautifully beaded Native American Cree bag. This meticulously beaded bag has a brown velvet thick case with a brain tanned leather border at drawstring opening with beads. This bag was crafted by Gary Johnson. He is one of the most well renown beaters in the world. He is Crow heritage and lived in Montana, but specialized in Cree and Métis. His pieces are found in the museum in Canada. Please look him up. The COLLECTION has the most pieces of his work available. His work is very hard to find most likely beaded and crafted in 1970.
The beads are glass, trade beads, and beautiful vibrant colors with a red wool tie and edging. The bag inside is satin material.
This beautiful bag is approximately 50 to 60 years old. It is museum quality The bag has no holes tears and is an excellent condition. Please review all the photos and ask questions. Thank you.
Dimensions 9”L x 6”W 4” strap drop The bag is a bit dusty those are not holes or defects in the material There is a marking on the inside of the bag. I am not sure what that is if it appears to be a signature? If you know, please tell me.
