This highway was plotted out to connect the National Parks in the Western part of the United States, covering parts of California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and Utah, a total journey of 6,000 miles (9,700 km). This sign has been made to the exact standards as used in the 1910s and 1920s by AAA, and posted all along the multi-state route.
