This very impressive Napoleonic war saber is one of the rarest types and very desirable and rarely seen.Kindly note may reproductions existof this saber but this is a complete original state saber.
These sabers where issued to high ranking Austro - Hungarian Cavalry officers.The saber which has silver gilding on much of the fitting has areas of fading due to use and ware.The saber fits perfectly into the scabbard.The hilt which is cavalry sabertype is in excellentcondition and shows signs of use, the knuckle bow has a crack, kindly reference photos. The remainderof the fitting are in great shape and have interesting decoration.
The blade truly speaks for itself, a beautifullycrafted saber blade with stunning script engraved on either side. These extend down 30 % of the blade on both sides and are completed with Jesuson the cross on one side and what could be a coat of arms or perhaps regimental insignia.
The scabbard is in fine shape but there is some fading of the felt areas due to age and wear. The fittings are in fine condition but again show signs of use.Please contact me for more photos, and kindly note only serious offers will be accepted.
