Napoleonic French Hussar Saber by Universal Swords
It feels like a good sword but I can’t say much more about it as I’m not too familiar with the sabre as a weapon. I bought it for backyard cutting after reading through the Sharpe series.
It performs well with the edge put on by kultofathena.com’s sharpening service. The brass is a bit tarnished but some polish will have it shining like new.
The blade is high carbon steel and the scabbard is wood, covered with leather and then has two brass sleeves with suspension rings. One of the langets is scratched (see pictures) where I tried to file it down for a more comfy grip, but I abandoned this idea pretty fast. It has a nice weight, and a pleasant feeling slightly blade forward balance that invites strong cuts while still retains a healthy degree of nimbleness. It has a nice, hefty grip and is a perfectly capable cutter, even with my inexperienced hand.
