A good example of a French AN XI light cavalry troopers sword. Brass, three bar hilt with inspection marks to the knucklebow. Leather grip with brass centre studs to either side, showing some woodworm. The bade shows light staining overall and there are various inspectors marks to the ricasso. The back strap of the blade has a manufactures mark of “Manufacture Imperiale Klingenthal 1813”. Retaining its correct steel scabbard, which has an overall dark patina.COPYRIGHT
