Owned by Clarence W. Barron. I personally guarantee this to be 100% worked at a number ofnewspapersthroughout his life, including theBoston Daily Newsand theBoston Evening Transcript. He founded theBoston News Bureauin 1887 and thePhiladelphia News Bureauin 1897, supplying financial news to brokers.
In March 1902, he purchasedDow Jones & Companyfor $130,000 from Charles Dow. CWBappointed himself president, a title he held until his death in 1928 and one which allowed him control ofThe Wall Street Journal.
In 1921, he founded the Dow Jones financial journal,Barron's National Financial Weekly, later renamedBarron's Magazine,and served as its first editor. He priced the magazine at ten cents an issue and saw circulation explode to 30,000 by 1926, with high popularity among investors and have been selling on since 1999 with 100% positive response.
