Montblanc Details:

The Montblanc 2013 Writers Edition pays homage to Honoré de Balzac, showcasing his stature and sartorial attire. The instrument features a black high-grade resin cap and dark-grey lacquered barrel with fine stripes in tribute to the cutaway worn by Balzac with his pointed shoes being expressed in the shape of the cone. The platinum-plated clip with gold-coated ring and turquoise inlay evokes the beautifully decorated walking stick he often carried.Cap and barrel rings are platinum-plated.

The 19th century social classes so vividly described by Balzac in "La Comedie Humaine" are embodied in the ring designs: the luxurious gold-coated cap head ring for the nobility, the discretely decorated platinum-plated cap ring for the bourgeoisie, and the simply worked cone ring for the lower classes. Balzac's finely engraved signature decorates the cap.
