For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Never Inked Limited Edition 888 Montblanc Nicolaus Copernicus Fountain Pen from the 2003 Patron of the Art Series in 18K White Gold with Yellow Diamonds. This particular fountain pen is a Limited Edition 544 of 888. This pen comes with the original lacquered wooden box, Montblanc Limited Edition Documentation, and the Medium nib sticker adhered to the barrel. This fountain pen has never been inked, and is considered in Mint Condition fitted with an 18K (.88mm) Medium nib.
This fountain pen is a limited edition Montblanc creation that pays homage to Nicolaus Copernicus. Nicolaus Copernicus’ view of the universe is the model for the Limited Edition created in his honor. Nine rings in 18K white gold encircle the lacquered barrel with 9 yellow diamonds set into the rings. The luxurious medium 18K nib is engraved with Copernicus' orbital charts. This Montblanc is a limited edition and the number of this particular pen is "544 of 888".
The cap and barrel are in perfect condition with no cracks, nicks, dings, dents, enameling loss, or repairs. The cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. This Montblanc is a limited edition number, "544 of 888" and is stamped on the cap lip. The top ring of the cap is stamped with, " 750, StØD, Balance/Scale, and Bear's Head hallmarks". The fountain pen measures 5 1/2" capped and 6 1/2" posted. This pen weighs in at 2.73 ounces.
This Montblanc fountain pen uses a piston filling system, I have tested it with water, and works as it was designed to. It is in perfect working order and does so very smoothly. This pen has never seen ink and is considered in Mint, New Old Stock condition.
The medium nib of this fountain pen is made of 18K gold and features an exquisitely designed engraving of Copernicus' orbital charts. The nib is stamped with, "4810, 18K/750, 2003, MONTBLANC" and is considered a MEDIUM point, measuring .88mm with digital calipers. The fountain pen has never been used with ink in order to preserve its pristine condition for the next owner or collector.
This Montblanc comes in the original Montblanc wooden black lacquered box, the Limited Edition Booklet, the outer cardboard box, and the original Medium nib sticker that is adhered to the barrel. There is lacquer loss to the left edging on top of the box. Additionally, the outer cardboard box has a tear at the corner. These imperfections are contained to the boxes and I have adjusted the pricing accordingly.
This Montblanc Patron of the Art Nicolaus Copernicus Fountain Pen has always been a favorite in the Patron of the Arts series. This one is in impeccable condition, having never been used with ink with a barrel and cap free from any imperfections! I would classify this 18K Gold Montblanc 888 Limited Edition Nicolaus Copernicus Fountain Pen as being in never-inked, New Old Stock, Mint condition.
