From a forgotten box in my office closet (and a Tucson estate over twenty years ago) is this I believe 1920\'s or perhaps earlier 1930\'s (to be safe) Navajo silver bracelet with shallow dapped repousse elliptical ornamentation at front and well struck prepared stamp embellishment around the band. So you know the ninety plus year old former owner had a number of vintage Southwestern ornaments she wore about in groupings - two decades later I\'ve finally gotten to them, and this is yet another. The offered cuff promotes a decidedly prewar (read Depression era or prior) tribal aesthetic and was crafted from rolled ingot metal. A traditional elongated \"C\" shaping is also readily apparent. That said, its weight is in line with the more wearable so called Fred Harvey style ornaments of that era. I\'m thinking it represents an older and more adaptive effort at satisfying the requirements of a period \"Indian detour\" visitor. Put another way, it may have been discovered at some remote less frequented trading post rest stop - a place where thunderbirds and walking dogs were not so much on the menu. Keep in mind how far off the beaten track those \"hinterlands\" were before new paved roads really opened up the American southwest (thank you Franklin Roosevelt). Weight is good for the form at about 18.5 grams on my portable digital scale. Condition is quite fine with a nice aura of time to the surfaces. Be aware I have avoided every urge to refresh away or \"improve\" upon any natural toning - you want that done, you do it. Typical and expected signs of previous wrist duty simply validate the history. This is nitpicking for the obsessive, and a look at the pics should give a good idea of appearance and condition. Inner circumference is about 5 7/8 in. plus the 29/32 in. opening. About 11/16 in. vertical at front center - and yes it will be noticed. If you prefer vintage for \"the look\" and the story, or simply wish a single immediate improvement to the ambiance of each day, this will have great meaning for you.
