Original NASA Apollo Saturn Rocket Instrument Unit Artifact
* Vintage NASA Apollo, Saturn Rocket, Instrument Unit, Computer Circuit Board, Space Flight Hardware*
The Instrument Unit (I.U.) was the "brain" or control center of the Saturn Rocket. This artifact was specifically designed by the engineers at Marshall Space Flight Center as a circuit board component for a Saturn Rocket Instrument Unit Telemetry Flight Box. The Telemetry Flight Boxes used aboard the Saturn Rocket were critical in assessing the status of all of the components before, during, and after launch from the Kennedy Space Center.
All of this circuit board's integrated components are built to the exceptional standards of NASA Apollo 'Mission Rated' Flight Hardware. Among the various components on this board are Glass Sealed Kovar Transistors, Hermetically Sealed Kovar Tantalum Capacitors, and Pulse Signal Transformers. The precious metals Gold, Silver, and Tantalum are used throughout this conformally coated device.
