Thisis an historically accurate replica of the original sword manufactured by Klingenthal in the Bas-Rhindepartment of France.

Klingenthal,meaning "Blade Valley" or "The Valley of Blades" inAlsatian and German, was host to a large manufacturer of various types of edgedweapons and metal armour during the 18th and 19th centuries.

Thewide blade was designed for the slice and cut combat generally experienced atsea.
