These beads are truly striking! They incorporate various of the techniques which have made the Venetian Glass masters famous worldwide. The large 9mm Murrina style beads are enhanced by Aventurine technique. This is the result ofthe addition of various metal oxides to thehot glass mixture, which will cause tiny particles of the metals to crystallize as the glass mixture cools off. This creates shimmering inclusion within the glass itself. Also these beads make use of another technique called "Sommerso" (Submerged), meaning the colored glass is encapsulated by an outer layer of clear glass for added depth. The overall result is knowns as "Nuvola" (cloud) as the multi-layering of the beads resembles fluffy clouds.

The beads are finished with gold caps and each one is hand knotted with colored thread for extra strength, the centerpiece and crucifix are also gold tone.

Fully extended it measures approx 19” in length (wearable), the crucifix is 1 3/4" in length, and it is labeled "Vetro Murano - Made in Italy". It is shipped with a drawstring velour pouch for safe storage.
