Questions welcomed!Older RAM cards used to be dirt-cheap compared to other parts and labor that might be needed when your Megatouch or Touchmaster Infinity won't boot, can't run certain games, or has a variety of strange symptoms. But nowadays, 10 or 20 year-old RAM cards are precious collector's items..., so better get your spares quick before you're offerding at Sotheby's, heh... Game repair service can also be hard to find, so many folks just give up and dump their game, but one easy thing to try first is just re-seating or swapping out your memory cards. It's a shot in the dark, but on numerous occasions I've seen RAM alone take a game from dead or quirky to fully functional...
Even if your game already works fine, if it only has the minimal amount of original memory that came with it, maybe only 32 or 64MB, this cheap and easy to install upgrade may result in smoother operation. This is even more important if your machine's software has been updated. (Megatouch 2012 and higher require at least 512MB total.). If you have an empty slot as most machines do, putting a card in it will add to what's already working in the other slot, usually. In some cases, cards of different brands/types/capacities don't work together even when good separately. Ideally, all cards would be exactly identical to each other, so if you can send a picture or specs of your existing card, we may be able to match it. Note:We don't currently stock SIMM cards for the first-generation MAXX (Telco) motherboard.
A total of 64MB is double the original for Infinity and MAXX, 128MB is plenty for Force, and 512MB is good for any ION. Even just adding a card to an empty slot may double, triple or more what you have. Why waste a perfectly good memory slot? Need it or not, as a doting collector, I just feel better knowing my games are running with memory headroom. It's also best to have at least one spare RAM card on hand, so if the game ever develops new problems, you can easily remove and replace the old card to see if failed RAM is the problem. It's a must for your game toolbox, and like all obsolete parts for aging appliances, they will only become more scarce and expensive as the years tick past.

Please always touch grounded metal immediately before handling sensitive micro-electronic parts to avoid destroying them with static electricity that's easily picked up walking across a carpet or from other sources you can't possibly feel. Megatouch Tips!: Keep EVO heat sinks and airways clean and all fans spinning at top speed! (Lowest fans should be positioned to blow upward, top fans blow out. If any doubt at all, replace fans with new ones.) Renew CPU heatsink compound if you're handy with that sort of thing. Be meticulous about layout of internal wiring and connectors so when you close the monitor cabinet, the electronics aren't being crushed nor interfering with fans. Replace CPU fan if self-test speed reports less than 3500rpm. Confirmthat power supply voltages are correct, and if the power supply gets very hot, replace with one rated for 250 to 300Watts or more, which runs cooler and helps all components last longer. Watch for bulging tops on failing can-shaped electrolytic capacitors, but don't replace them yourself unless you have significant soldering experience. If game does nothing at all when switched on, possibly just dead button cell CMOS battery on motherboard. Read about jumper-starting ATX power supplies (or write me), gently replace battery, connect a keyboard to the game's motherboard, startup with delete button pressed,set Fail-Safe Defaults, then set Optimized Defaults,set BIOS date and time, disable any boot device other than ATAPI CD and IDE, set to Power-On after power failure. Exit saving changes. On Midway Infinity, no jumper-startup needed, just replace CMOS battery, press F1 or F2 at start-up, set time & date, set to Power-On after power failure, disable floppy A drive and set IDE as first and only boot device. Exit saving changes.
