Hard to find blue on white souvenir plate from Masterpiece Gardens, Lake Wales, Florida. Floral border surrounds the masterpiece: a mosaic created by European artists depicting Da Vinci\'s \"Last Supper.\" Creating the masterpiece took over two years and 300,000 pieces in over 10,000 color hues. The Mosaic was hidden in a basement to avoid the bombing in Europe during World War II and later shipped out of the country to avoid Russian capture. By the early 1950s it ended up as a tourist attraction in Lake Wales , Florida.

In the days before Disney World, it was one of the three big attractions of Central Florida, expanding over the years to include a number of other attractions. This plate is probably from the 1970s. However, the attraction could not survive the Disney competition, and finally closed in 1981. The Mosaic was removed, and the property itself is today owned by a religious group that now uses it for retreats.

Marked on the bottom as having been made by Alfred Meakin, Old English Staffordshire Ware, and imported by Jonroth for the Masterpiece Gift Shop, Inc of Lake Wales Florida.

Condition: very nice condition I see no chips cracks or other issues. I would not hesitate to give this as a gift.
