This work comes with a box and is by Hamada Shoji, a Living National Treasure of Mashiko-yaki folk pottery.

The floral design is pa inted with black glaze and iron pa inting. The touch is full of a sense of speed. The rim is made of whale skin. I think this is a fine piece with many interesting features. It is also in excellent condition.
