Maryland Route 3 highway marker.

Up for sale today is this Maryland Route 3 sign. This sign is an exact duplicate of a design, incorporating a map of Maryland behind the numbers, that was made up by the Maryland sign shop in 1981. Signs with this design have only been made as proof of concept specimens and never posted in the field.

The only originals of these are kept under lock and key in the Maryland state sign shop. They are not interested in parting with them anytime soon. So here\'s your chance to get your hands on a fantastic display piece...without trespassing on state property.

The sign is 12 by 12 inches, and weighs 3 lb. 11 oz..

This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!
