US Civil War Model 1860 Cavalry Sword with Scabbard. The ricasso is marked "Mansfield & Lamb", "Forestdale, RI", and on the reverse "US", "C.E.W.", "2", and "1864". The grip and pommel are tight, the guard will move a tiny bit if you force it. The pommel cap has some dents. The grip has about 85% of the leather remaining, there is a chip where the knuckleguard meets the pommel. The brass twisted wire is 100% complete.The blade is straight, lightly sharpened on the lower half, no nicks, has age spots scattered throughout, and has a little light pitting. The scabbard is solid with no dents/dings, the throat is marked "M", the drag is faintly marked "C.E.W." over "2", possible shrapnel damage (has a hole), has some pitting with surface rust scattered, and it is a little tight on/off the sword. Washer is missing. Length of the blade is 34 7/8" (1 1/16" wide and 5/16" thick), the sword is 41", and in the scabbard it is 42 3/8".
