Magnificent 16 Inch Hand-Carved African Soapstone Lion:

Truly the King of the Jungle, this magnificent lion will guard your home. A beautiful creamy stone with a peach tint, the mane shows a darker shade.
Soapstone is a natural rock found in the village of Tabaka near Kisii, Kenya. Most of the villagers make their living from creating these wonderful sculptures, the larger ones such as this are made by master craftsmen. The stone is quarried by hand in fairly shallow mines and then items are created using only basic hand tools. Size 16\" x 10\" x 7\" (40 x 25 x 18 cm) Weight 10.5 KG As it is hand carved there is no manufacturer\'s packaging.
