Heat treatment:THIS KNIFE WAS FORGE FIRED TO TIME / TEMPERATURE SPECS AND ALUMINUM PLATE QUENCHED FOLLOWED BY 24 HOUR COLD SOAKING. PLEASE NOTE THE HOLIGRAPHIC SUBSURFACE DECARBURIZATION. THIS IS NORMAL AND EXPECTED WITH FORGE FIRING, PRIMARY BEVEL GRINDING PRIOR TO HEAT TREATMENT, AND NO PLATE SURFACE GRINDING POST HEAT TREAT. BUYER CAN HAVE ABSOLUTE CONFIDENCE THAT THIS KNIFE IS BORN OF CERTIFIED AEB-L STAINLESS STEEL BAR STOCK. ~RT

Care: AEB-L is a martensitic stainless steel with 13% chromium alloy. While a true stainless, no stainless steel is rust \"proof\". Wash and dry after use, avoid submersion. Use high grit buffing compounds and/or paper if surface blemishes occur.
