This week, I’m saleing off some choice examples of comic book and comic strip original art. There should be something for everyone here. The syndicated comic strip "Mr. Abernathy" ran from 1957 to the mid-Nineties, and featured a lead character who somewhat resembled the rich guy from the Monopoly game. The title character was insanely rich, liked chasing beautiful younger women, and indulging in all sorts of childish aqctivities with his money. The strip was light-hearted and flexible enough to find humor in a wide variety of subjects. At its peak, it appeared in hundreds of newspapers weekly. The strip is still fondly remembered. Here I have a daily strip dated January 2, 1990, measuring about 4 x 13 1/2. It's in great shape and is a nice example of this series.
