M28847 Limited Edition: ####/9000 Made in Germany 18k – 750 Medium (M) Nib The2021Montblanc Writers Edition Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is dedicated to the author and spiritual father of Sherlock Holmes. Made from blue-grey precious resin, the edition evokes the sinister, foggy atmosphere of London, where Sherlock Holmes usually solves his cases. Cap and barrel decorated with plaid pattern in reference to Sherlock Holmes’ coat and parts of historic London city map, showing Baker Street on cap and Upper Wimpole Street on barrel. PVD-coated, magnifying-glass-shaped clip with initials ‘JB’ beneath in homage to Joseph Bell, the real man who served as inspiration for Sherlock Holmes. Circle on clip ring recalls historic ophthalmoscope, which Doyle would have used in his time as an ophthalmologist Ruthenium-coated cap ring decorated with vine motif from title page ofA Study in Scarlet, publication date of this novel, ‘Oct 30, 1886’, and author’s signature. Engraving on handcrafted ruthenium-coated Au 750 solid gold nib depicting flying dinosaurs fromThe Lost Worldand Doyle’s portrait. Montblanc emblem in precious resin crowns cap top.
