This item for sale is an original 35mm black and white negative of Michael Jordan\'s ROOKIE YEAR from the the1984-85 season. It was taken by a professional sports photographer with professional equipment with on the court credentials and not from some fan in the stands with a normal camera.
You can tell that it is from his rookie year as that was the last year that the Chicago Bulls used that jersey.
This is a one-of-one negative. It is much rare than his base 1986 Fleer rookie card which there were probably anywhere from 180,000 - 300,000 of these cards produced.
This negative was in the stadium and on the court while he was playing in this game. Unlike a photograph or sports card that was printed at a later date from when the original negative was taken. Many collectors don\'t even know that these negatives exist and fewer have ever seen one in person. The collectible film (negatives, 35mm slides, transparency) market is a small niche market that has been growing. recently started its own category for negatives. There have been Michael Jordan negatives that have sold in the $5000 range which is still very undervalued depending on the year, image, or game. More sports card, photograph, and sneaker collectors are discovering this niche market which has been growing the last couple of years and it is reflecting in the price appreciation of these collectibles.
