Handwritten letter inviting a Miss Moore to visit himself and his wife
Autograph Letter Signed: "M Faraday", one page, 5x5. Hampton Court (London), Thursday, n .d. To "Miss Moore", in full: "My wife says come tomorrow. We shall be very glad to see you as you know. Ever yours". English chemist and physicist Michael Faraday (1791-1867) contributed significantly to the fields of electromagnetism and electrochemistry. He discovered two chlorides of carbon in 1820 and benzine in 1825. In 1831, Faraday discovered the induction of electric currents and the first dynamo. In 1845, he found that a magnetic field will rotate the plane of polarization. Faraday also invented electrolysis. Lightly toned with one horizontal mailing fold through center. Fine condition. Shipping - We ship via FedEx and USPS. Shipping charges are calculated at time of payment and are dependent on the number of items purchased and the destination shipping address. Due to the value of most purchases, a signature is required for delivery. This policy limits our ability to ship to PO Boxes. All international shipments (destinations outside the U.S) will be sent via FedEx. Please feel free to contact us in advance for shipping charges - international customers are encouraged to do so.
