MCM Alfred Meakin ‘Pride Of Erin’Gravy Jug Green/Gold C1960’s Cottage Core :

This Alfred Meakin , Pride of Erin pattern gravy boat was produced as a nod to Ireland (Erin is a Celtic name for Ireland) with its Green/Jade in appearance band around the rim with Gold Scrolling made in the MCM period of the 1960’s.

It was produced at the Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, England Earthenware Factory . This No longer exists and all production of Meakin is no longer in production ,therefore this lovely gravy boat will surely become a sort after collectable of the future.

It has a wide lip for ease of pouring of the gravy and it has a scrolled handle design with gold gilding and fleur-de-lis style design.

The Gravy boat has a raised rim base to elevate it and is backstamped with Alfred Meakin and England surrounding a Gold Crown.

This earthenware piece could also be used for Sauce,Milk or a Compote Jug.

The Beautiful gravy boat with its gilded pattern is truely a lux looking design and could be used in a Cottage Core, Granny Chic’ ,lux,English Manor or Regency Style interior.

It would look lovely on a table scape or tray for a romantic dinner,dinner party, high tea or a cosy Sunday Roast with the family.

The gravy boat is in very good vintage condition with no chips,cracks or crazing.

The Gilding does have some rubbing over time but still looks vibrant. There is some minimal discolouration on the base rim from use over time , however this does not detract from the aesthetic and cannot be seen unless turned over.

This gravy boat is only included in the listing and not the additional pieces which are for styling purposes only.
