Built by Caird & Co., Greenock, Scotland for the P&O Line British flag as a 10,986 GT ship with dimensions of 540\'x61\'. Twin-screw, 16 knots, quadruple expansion engines, two masts and two funnels. Service route was England-Australia via Suez Canal.
Passenger accommodations for 350 first and 160 second class.
Sold to Japanese ship breakers in May 1932. Sister ship to the MANTUA.
