This is a phenomenal collection of original photos and ephemera.
Lt. Smith served in the 90th Aero Squadron in Germany. The 90th was a recon outfit and took photos and mapped the terrain.
Smith has access to photos taken by the army photogs and several are included.
The offering includes many pictures of planes and glimpses on the aerodromes.
There is a candid shot of General Pershing.
Included are aerial photos of airmen and crashed planes.
The 90th returned to Camp Kelly in Texas after the war.
Lt Smith was killed in a training mishap in 1920. The letter informing his parents of his death is included as are news clippings.
The small buffalo litho is the mascot of the 90th. Very rare!
