Lovely Antique Nippon Porcelain Scalloped Hand Painted 10\" Decorative BowlFrom Japan, beautiful and intricately hand-painted detail throughout. The scalloped bowl is a wonderful mix of pink roses, green leaves, yellow buds, and beautiful violets. All the colors culminate in a soft haze in the center and towards the border of the bowl. The beaded Nippon moriage of gold gilt borders the scalloped rim that adds a rich detail...just gorgeous!Measures 9 3/4\"\" in diameter, 2 3/4\" tall, and weighs 1 lb. 3 ounces. Marked on the bottom with the blue maple leaf Nippon mark that dates to 1891.In very good antique condition, there are no chips, cracks, or crazing. There is some age-related wear to some of the gold gilt on the edge rim and there may be some marks or impressions or wear to other areas. There is one impression on the underside rim that was done during the glazing process. Please enlarge photos for detail.
