Lourdes, FRANCE - Le Lac & L\'Embarcadére - Les Pyrénées: Lourdes is a market town situated in the Pyrenees. It is part of the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitanie region in southwestern France. Prior to the mid-19th century, the town was best known for its Château fort, a fortified castle that rises up from a rocky escarpment at its center. In 1858, Lourdes rose to prominence in France and abroad due to the Marian apparitions claimed to have been seen by the peasant girl Bernadette Soubirous, who was later canonized. Shortly thereafter the city, which contains the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes, became one of the world\'s most important sites of pilgrimage and religious tourism. Lake Lourdes is located just 3 km from Lourdes city center towards Pau. It is a picturesque 50-hectare glacial lake that is an ideal place to relax and practice a variety of outdoor activities, including walking, mountain biking, fishing, golfing, etc., and there is also a restaurant around it, an adventure playground for children, pedals and a picnic area, attracting many families from inside and outside the city. This Divided Back Era (1907-15) postcard is in good condition.
