Lot of 451 different vintage california 15 minute USGS topographic maps:

Lot of 451 15\' USGS topographic maps that were purchased in 1968 and bound into a book with 1/4\" plywood covers. The maps are oin alphabetic order in the book. There are three maps adjacent to the front cover (Acolita, Acton, Adelaida) and two maps adjacent to the back cover (Yosemite, Yreka) that have creases from folding in the book as shown in the photos. The vast majority are uncreased. The map of Twentynine Palms is creased and stained from use as shown. The right 1/2\" of the margin of a few of the maps is eroded from oxidation but this doesn\'t affect any of the mapped area. All maps have four holes in the left margin for the bolts for binding the maps.
I purchased these maps to aid in exploration and hiking when I was a resident of California in the 1960s and the maps focus on the desert areas (including Joshua Tree and Death Valley) and mountain areas (including the Sierra Nevada, Cascade, northern Coastal Range, San Bernardino and San Jacinto mountains).

The map book is 22\"x17\"x3\" and weights 28 lbs.
