This listing is for a lot of 28 antique Magic Lantern color glass slides. From what I have learned is these slides were used early on in movie theatres to advertise local businesses. Like they do still but now those adds are either film or digital. So these were projected on the movie screen before the actual start of a movie. How cool is that! Most or likely ALL the businesses in these slides are from Central Coast California and more to the point, Antioch, California. All 28 slides are pictured between the first and second image of this listing. Unsure of the date for these but likely between 1920 - 1950. Beautiful colors that come through under the right light. Some of these are cracked -- the following slides include cracks: NEW HOME BAKERY - 1st picture bottom left corner. Small hairline crack on the bottom right corner of slide. HOME BUILDERS - 1st picture towards center. Several cracks. JOE M. CESA - 1st picture right center. Hairline crack. DUDE MARTIN - 2nd picture top left corner. Hairline crack. EL CAMPANIL - 2nd picture top right corner. Several cracks. Other slides may also be cracked in a corner or edge that is NOT visible in the viewable image section.
