As far as mineral specimen lots go, these 20 beautiful and gemmy brown barite (baryte) specimens from the Book Cliffs in Western Colorado are just about as awesome as they could get! These were collected and unearthed just in the last few months from the Sirius Mine, North of Grand Junction, specifically for you!
In total, these 20 weigh about 270 grams, and while some are possibly as large as 2 inches (60mm), most are an inch or smaller (30mm). There are some that have crystal faces, some have crystals, some have phantoms, and every single one of them is exceptionally awesome! According to Mindat, they\'re brown because of hydrocarbon inclusions, and for that reason, the brown in them isn\'t always consistent and you\'ll sometimes find lines of heavier concentrations and endlessly unique presentations.
They\'re great for cabbing, although it\'s pretty soft and brittle and sensitive to heat changes, but you can make some pretty awesome jewelry! They\'re also great for putting in your collection, as they\'re beautiful and will draw the attention of your eyes every time!
