Lot of 2 vintage 10.75\" square trays, birds/flowers, prob. Alfred E. Knobler 50s:

Here is a set of two square trays with colorful and elegant small-scale prints. They stack together neatly. One has red-pink flowers amid multicolor swirling designs with metallic gold highlights on an ivory background. The other has small yellow and green birds (maybe swallows?) flying between leaves and flowers in metallic gold with red highlights on a speckled ivory background. They are 10.75\" square and .75\" deep.
The back says \"ALCOHOL PROOF\" and \"MADE IN JAPAN\" in small red text. Unfortunately I don\'t see a brand indicated, but the style and text appear to match items imported by Alfred E. Knobler & Co. in the 1950\'s or 1960\'s. They feel light for their size and may be made of laquered papier mache.As I\'m not sure of the material, please exercise caution if you need to clean them, and try any material/method on a small inconspicuous area first.
They both have some uneven yellowing/discoloration on the backs, and light wear around the edges. Please see the photos and ask any questions before buying, as you will receive the exact items pictured.
